Here you will find a wealth of information about coaching youth soccer for the different age groups, sample lesson plans, and information on coaching youth in general. Information on furthering your education as a soccer coach is also located here as well as short informational, instructional, and entertaining video clips.

COACHES HANDBOOK

Assists coaches to be their best by providing online resources on how to appropriately coach players at each age and level of development.

The “Coach's Handbook” is designed to assist you, “the coach”, in creating an environment in which each child can reach his/her full potential as a soccer player and as a child. You are an assistant to the GAME in teaching players and an assistant to players in their understanding of the GAME. This handbook provides the support that you, the coach, need to best accomplish these goals. The Coach's Handbook is broken into several sections to make your job easier. If you are coaching an age group, you can go through the basic information on coaching techniques and guidelines and skip directly to your age group and skip the age groups that you are not working with. All sections are available from the main menu bar to the left. As you visit each section, a specific menu bar for that section will appear to the right. COACH EDUCATION

For some of you, coaching will become a life-long endeavour. Especially as your children grow older, their ability to learn new techiniques will also grow. To help you be the best coach possible for your age group, Ohio County Area Soccer and KY Youth Soccer offer many opportunities for coaching education. LOCAL CLINICS

Prior to each recreational league season, Ohio County Area Soccer conducts local clinics for it's recreational coaches. We want to ensure that new coaches and returning coaches alike have the best tools available to help teach the world's greatest game to our youth. Topics included in the clinics are basic rules, equipment needed, sample drills, and technically specific question and answer sessions. Check the main Announcements page for details on when and where the next local clinic will be.
